My Background

I was born into a Kampung, where we are free-spirited and live together in a tightly knitted community. I can still clearly remember an elderly “Po-Po” neighbour, who always called out to us and gives us yummy snacks generously whenever we ran pass her house. This community spirit in our Kampung has instilled the values of Hard Work and Abundance in me, shaping me into who I am today. I find joy serving in local and overseas community involvement projects, where I can make an impact in someone’s life.

Re-discovering what I really want

Upon graduating with an Honours Degree in Biomedical Science from NUS, my parents hoped that I can find a stable job; work hard and earn a decent income for my future. However, after a few months in the corporate world, I realised it wasn’t all that I have imagined and I felt a sense of emptiness inside me. This started me in seeking for a career with meaningful purpose, one that I can see myself doing for the rest of my life. And I wanted my family to live a better life without financial worries. 

 

When I stumbled upon this career as a Financial Advisor in 2013, I realised it can truly provide a platform for me to find a balance between Impact, Time Control and Financial Freedom. As long as I keep doing the right things for my clients, everything else will fall in place naturally. My Lifetime Member Award for Great Eastern Life Achievers’ Club (GELAC) Award since year 2018 highlighted my consistency in striving for the best since day one. 

Gaining Trust from my clients

My clientele base is built through words of mouth and referrals, starting from my friends as working professionals to their parents as pre-retirees. Adopting a holistic approach to design their financial house, starting from Risk Management to Wealth Accumulation and finally Legacy Planning. What kept me going is the sense of fulfilment I get through empowering my clients to take financial responsibility, not just for themselves but also to safeguard their families’ future in both good and bad times. 

 

We tend to look for stories in our business to clement the belief and faith of what we do. Never, in my imagination that this story has to happen to the closest person to me.  When we received the news of my mother’s diagnosis of colon cancer in 2018, our worlds turned upside down. However, I can speak with pride that all her medical expenses have been taken care of because of the plans I’ve put together for all my clients.

In essence, I have only 4 competitors: Critical Illness, Disability, Dying too soon and Living too long. My mission is to my people before my 4 competitors do.
